Streams for Entrepreneurs In (APNP)

Rural Entrepreneur Stream
Eligibility: Aimed at individuals who wish to start, acquire, or partner in a business in Alberta’s rural areas outside Edmonton and Calgary.
Requirements: Candidates must demonstrate a minimum net worth, investment intent, and business management or ownership experience. A well-structured business plan detailing the intended venture in a rural area is also essential.
Graduate Entrepreneur Stream
Eligibility: Targeted at recent graduates from Alberta’s post-secondary institutions with entrepreneurial intentions.
Requirements: Along with a Post-Graduation Work Permit, graduates should have completed a minimum of two years of full-time education in Alberta. A business proposal or plan showcasing the intended venture and its viability is crucial.
Farm Stream
Eligibility: Designed for individuals with a keen interest in farming and who wish to own and manage a farm in Alberta.
Requirements: Candidates should have proven farm management skills, either through previous ownership, farm management experience, or formal training. Additionally, a proposed business plan for the farming enterprise in Alberta and evidence of available financial resources to develop a sustainable farming operation is mandatory.
Foreign Graduate Entrepreneur Stream
Eligibility: This stream caters to foreign graduates from post-secondary institutions outside Canada interested in establishing or acquiring a business in the province.
Requirements: Foreign graduates who have completed their studies outside of Canada and wish to establish or purchase a business in Alberta can showcase their business idea through a comprehensive plan. The candidate should have a certain level of financial investment in the business. Language proficiency and a demonstrated ability to reside in Alberta, among other requirements, are also considered.
