Farm Stream in Alberta PNP
The Farmer Stream is an immigration stream under the Alberta Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) that targets experienced farmers who wish to start a farm or buy an existing farm in Alberta. This stream is designed to address the province’s specific labor market needs and to support the growth and development of the agriculture industry in Alberta.
To be eligible for the Farmer Stream, candidates must have proven experience in farming, have sufficient financial resources to purchase and develop a farm and have a business plan that outlines their proposed farming operation in Alberta. The applicants must make an investment of $500,000 CAD and have a Personal Net Worth: $500,000 CAD. They must also meet other program-specific criteria.
Successful applicants under the Farmer Stream are granted permanent residency in Canada and are required to start or acquire and actively operate a farm in Alberta. The program provides an excellent opportunity for experienced farmers to establish themselves in Alberta, which is known for its diverse agricultural industry and abundant natural resources.

- Candidates must prove that they have farm management skills.
- financial documentation of an existing farm business
- documentation of education, training, and work experience
- a proposed business plan for the farming enterprise you are considering in Alberta.
- proof that a Canadian financial institution is willing to finance your proposed farming business..
- Candidates must be able to invest a minimumof CDN $500,000 of equity in a primary production farming business in Alberta.
- Proof that a Canadian financial institution is willing to finance your proposed farming business.
Ineligibility
- Have an active nomination that has not expired and/or is eligible for extension under another AAIP stream.
- Have been issued a letter on a previous AAIP application that stated you are not eligible to re-apply to the AAIP for a specified period of time.
- Have had a removal order issued against you by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) or Canada Border Services Agency.
- Are a foreign national living or working in Canada with no valid temporary resident status.
- Are a live-in caregiver currently living in Canada.
- Are working and residing as temporary foreign worker in a province other than Alberta.
- Are international students studying in Canada, including students doing co-op work placements or internships as part of their study program.

- IMM 0008DEP Additional Dependents/Declaration Form (Complete this form only if you have more than 5 dependents)
