International Post-Graduate (IPG) Program

The International Post-Graduate (IPG) program in British Columbia (BC) is designed for international students who have graduated with a Masters or Ph.D. degree from one of BC’s eligible institutions in one of BC’s eligible programs.

They must also have a valid job offer from a BC employer in a skilled occupation. They must also have the required language proficiency and financial support to settle in BC.

Once an application is approved, the applicant will receive a nomination from the BC government, which can increase their chances of being approved for permanent residency in Canada. The nomination is then submitted to the federal government for processing.

Application process

• The applicants must submit an application through BC’s online immigration portal.
• They must indicate on this application whether they are applying through the accelerated Express Entry system or the regular Skills Immigration system.
• The application fee is $700 CAD.
• If the application is approved the candidate will be issued a PNP for PR
• BC Health Authority stream through Express Entry – notification of nomination will be sent to the applicant’s IRCC portal.
• The applicant will receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for federal PR
• Then the applicant can submit a PR application.
• Regular Skills Immigration system
  • Applicant has six months to submit an official
  • Application for permanent residence.
  • prepare a paper-based application and submit it by mail to the appropriate application center.
