International Education Stream (IES)

The International Education Stream (IES) is a subcategory of the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) designed to attract and retain international students who have graduated from post-secondary institutions in Manitoba. It offers a pathway to permanent residency for eligible international graduates who have the skills and qualifications needed to build Manitoba’s economy and society. The IES is an important tool for Manitoba to attract and retain talented international graduates who can help build a diverse and prosperous community in the province. By offering a pathway to permanent residency, Manitoba is able to leverage the skills and knowledge of these graduates to meet its economic and social needs.

There are three sub-pathways under this stream:

  1. Manitoba Career Employment Pathway
  2. Manitoba Graduate Internship Pathway
  3. Manitoba Student Entrepreneur Pathway

Manitoba Career Employment Pathway

The Career Employment Pathway expedites nomination processes for post-secondary students who graduate and obtain long-term job opportunities in Manitoba in an in-demand occupation that matches their educational background.

Manitoba Graduate Internship Pathway

The Graduate Internship Pathway expedites nomination for foreign master’s and doctorate graduates through internships that contribute to industry innovation in the province of  Manitoba. Graduates who complete an Accelerate or Elevate internship with Mitacs in Manitoba are eligible to apply to the MPNP soon after graduation, regardless of whether they’ve received a job opportunity.

Manitoba Student Entrepreneur Pathway

The International Student Entrepreneur Pilot (ISEP) enables up to 20 foreign students who have graduated in Manitoba to pursue business rather than job opportunities. Once the applicant has fulfilled the terms of their Business Performance Agreement, they are nominated for permanent residence.
