Physicians Stream
The Nova Scotia Physicians Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) is a specialized immigration stream designed to address the shortage of physicians in the province. The program aims to attract and retain foreign-trained physicians who have the skills and experience needed to provide high-quality medical care to the people of Nova Scotia. This program is only open to general practitioners and family physicians (NOC 31102) and specialist physicians (NOC 31100 and NOC 31101) with signed approved opportunities with the Nova Scotia Health Authority or the IWK Health Centre.
The program provides expedited processing for eligible candidates and their families, and successful applicants receive a nomination from the province, which allows them to apply for permanent residency through the federal government. The Nova Scotia Physicians PNP is a crucial part of the province’s efforts to address the healthcare needs of its residents, and it offers an attractive pathway to immigration for foreign-trained physicians who are seeking to make a meaningful contribution to the province’s healthcare system.
