Skilled Worker

The Nova Scotia Skilled Worker stream is a part of the Nova Scotia Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) and is designed to attract and retain skilled workers who have the education, work experience, and language proficiency to contribute to Nova Scotia’s economy. This stream is intended for individuals who have a job offer from a Nova Scotia employer in a skilled occupation or have experience in one of Nova Scotia’s targeted occupations. The Skilled Worker stream has different eligibility requirements, such as work experience, education, and language proficiency, which must be met by the applicant to be eligible for nomination. The Nova Scotia Skilled Worker stream is an excellent opportunity for skilled workers who wish to settle in Nova Scotia, as it provides them with a pathway to permanent residency in Canada.

Eligibility Requirements

Job Offer

Full-time permanent job offer from a Nova Scotia employer

Work experience

1 year of work experience related to the job.

Workers in TEER category 4 or 5 must already have six months of experience with the employer.

Age

Between 21 to 55 years

Education

High school diploma or higher

Training and skills

Must have the appropriate training, skills, and/or accreditation for the job;

Language ability

NOC TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 occupation – Canadian

Language Benchmark (CLB) Level 5

NOC TEER 4 or 5 occupations – CLB 4

Settlement funds

Must show enough financial resources to successfully settle in Nova Scotia

How to Apply

  • Applications are submitted online through the Nova Scotia online portal.
  • The province will nominate the applicant if the application is successful.
  • Applicants can request a letter of Support for their Temporary Work Permit.
  • Apply for permanent residence.
  • Inform the province when PR is granted.
