Saskatchewan Hospitality Sector Project

The Saskatchewan Hospitality Sector Project is a subcategory of the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) that allows the province to nominate candidates who have a job offer from an employer in the hospitality sector in Saskatchewan for permanent residency in Canada. To be eligible for the Saskatchewan Hospitality Sector Project, candidates must have a valid job offer from a Saskatchewan employer in the hospitality sector, meet the SINP eligibility criteria, and have the necessary education and work experience for the position.

Candidates who are nominated through the Saskatchewan Hospitality Sector Project receive an invitation to apply for permanent residency in Canada. The Saskatchewan Hospitality Sector Project helps to address the labour market needs in the hospitality sector, attract and retain skilled workers, and contribute to the local economy.

This program is for applicants who:

  • Are currently working in Saskatchewan on a temporary work permit.
  • Have been working with a SINP Hospitality-approved employer for at least six months (780 hours).
  • Are working in one of the following occupations:
    • Food/Beverage Server (NOC 65200).
    • Housekeeping/Cleaning Staff (NOC 65310).
    • Food Counter Attendant/Kitchen Helper (NOC 65201).
  • Intend to reside in Saskatchewan as a permanent resident.
  • Meet the sub-category criteria.

Eligibility

  • The applicant must have a valid work permit through a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) for:
    • Food/Beverage Server (NOC 65200).
    • Food Counter Attendant/Kitchen Helper (NOC 65201).
    • Housekeeping/Cleaning Staff (NOC 65310).
  • The applicant must have finished at least Grade 12 (or equivalent).
  • The employer must be approved by the SINP to participate in the Hospitality Sector Project.
  • The applicant must have worked for at least six months (780 hours) of full-time (30+ hours per week) work experience with the same employer that provided you with the Job Approval Letter. The work experience must be consecutive.
  • The applicant must obtain at least Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) 4 or higher English ability in all four categories (listening, speaking, reading, and writing).
  • The applicant must have a valid SINP Job Approval Letter.

Ineligibility

  • Refugee claimants in Canada who are claiming refugee status from the Government of Canada.

Temporary Foreign Workers

If you are a temporary foreign worker:

  • The employer must send a completed SINP-500-4 Hospitality Sector Recruitment and Settlement Plan.
  • Once this plan is approved and the requirements are fulfilled, the applicant will be eligible to apply.

General Guidelines

All documents must be easy-to-read copies of the original documents.

If it is not in English or French, you must submit:

  • A copy of the original document.
  • A copy of the English or French translation of the document.
  • A copy of an affidavit from the translator, describing their translation ability. (Translator must be Certified by a regulatory body, can not be A family member, A spouse, Anyone who works for or is preparing your application.)

Required Forms

  1. Generic Application Form for Canada (principal applicant only).
  2. Additional Family Information Form (a form completed by both the principal applicant, the accompanying spouse, and accompanying dependent children over 18 years of age).
  3. Schedule A – Background/Declaration (a form is required for the principal applicant, accompanying spouse, and accompanying dependent children over 18 years of age).

Note- if funds are in the name of the spouse and the spouse is not accompanying the principal applicant, need Schedule-A for a spouse.

  1. If you have more than five dependents or children, you must provide this form: Additional Dependents/Declaration
  2. If you have a common-law spouse, you must provide this form: Statutory Declaration of Common-Law Union
