Connecting Communities: Yukon’s Pilot

The Yukon Community Pilot (YCP) is a sub-stream under the Yukon Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) that aims to attract and retain skilled workers and entrepreneurs to Yukon’s smaller communities. The YCP was launched in January 2020 as a three-year pilot program and is designed to address the unique economic and demographic challenges faced by rural communities in Yukon.

The YCP allows eligible communities to nominate foreign workers and entrepreneurs for permanent residency in Canada. To be eligible for the YCP, applicants must have a job offer from a participating community, meet the language proficiency requirements, have sufficient funds to support themselves and their family, and meet the requirements of the federal immigration program they are applying under.

The YCP is an important initiative that supports the economic development of smaller communities in Yukon by attracting and retaining skilled workers and entrepreneurs. The program also provides an opportunity for foreign workers and entrepreneurs to settle in a vibrant and welcoming community in Yukon and contribute to its growth and development.
